Forthcoming on Exit Records Print E-mail

Exit_RecordsFast becoming one of the most exciting and diverse labels in Drum & Bass ‘Exit Records’ have a massive lineup of quality releases in the pipeline. Forthcoming on the label imminently are EXIT019 and EXIT020. Full details are right here.

The first release for 2010 on Exit records comes in the form of two tracks by Russian newcomers Abstract Elements, made up of two producers Bop and Diagram. Their tracks caught the attention of label owner dBridge with their seemingly fearless quest for experimentation and have featured heavily in the sets of DJs such as dBridge, Instra:mental, Loxy, ASC and also on the Autonomic podcasts. Both tracks sit just as comfortably at clubs such as FWD as they do in an all out DnB party.

VAMPCDLP2UK002 Drumz of the Damned (2xCD) – Various Artists Vampire Records CD x 2
Vampire Records is a label created by Phil Aslett formerly of Source Direct. The label has been set up to release Drum and Bass music of all styles and will feature many different artists. The concept behind Vampire Records is the relation between the nocturnal behavior of Clubbers and Vampires. Vampire has constant evolution and is a platform for established artists and up and coming talent. The birth of the label was at the end of 2006. It has grown from strength to strength over the last couple of years. Vampire is still growing to this day but it has staying power in the world of Drum and Bass. It is up to its 10th single release and on April 1st 2009 it released its first label album “Once Bitten Twice High”. All releases on the label are still selling which proves that the music has shelf life and is non-disposable. It was very important to Phil Source at the birth of the label that it would have credibility with the old school, as well as the new breed of Drum and Bass fan. The Album “Drumz of the Damned” is the perfect follow up to “Once Bitten Twice High”. It continues the deep journey into the world of Vampire Records. This time it has 22 exclusive tracks and 2 remixes. It will take you on a journey through many different moods and styles of Drum and Bass. From Light to Dark this album has everything! Once Again! Wobble T aka W.T. is a Drum and Bass Producer and DJ. He was born and raised in the south of France and started his musical career as guitarist in a punk rock band. Since 1999, influenced by all urban music, he started mixing techno and DnB at free parties & bars before starting to produce techno with computers, groovebox and samplers.

Fabric Live 50: D-Bridge & Instra:Mental Present Autonomic Print E-mail

autonomicDespite the genre’s future-forward and experimental beginnings in the early 90s, drum & bass’ rigid uniformity over the last decade has made it a stifling environment for many producers. For dBridge, with his background as a former member of the drum & bass heavyweight champions Bad Company, the pressure of dancefloor expectations and DJs’ desire for club smashers has been experienced and rejected once in his career already.

Since going solo he has been busy developing a more cultured sound that has carved him a niche in a music scene from which he was feeling increasingly removed from. Instra:mental meanwhile, having had a successful stint in drum & bass some years earlier, returned to D&B production in the mid 00s with a uniquely fresh approach.

Inspired by 80s synth music, the Detroit sound and the Warp back catalogue, and with a studio fully loaded with vintage hardware equipment, they set about writing drum & bass unlike anyone else; a method that struck a chord with a like-minded soul in dBridge.

nonplus

Instra:mental welcome a new addition to the Nonplus+ camp who goes by the name of ASC. This producer is by no means new to making music, but recently his productions have become an essential addition to dBridge & Instra:mental
